Amalia De Luca, Ph.D. serves as Vice President of Planning and Business Development at Axogen, where she leads strategic planning, business development, and integration efforts to support the company’s growth in nerve regeneration and repair.

Dr. De Luca brings over 15 years of experience in medical devices and biopharma, shaping portfolio strategy, investment priorities, and growth opportunities for global organizations. She joins Axogen from Abbott Laboratories, where she most recently served as Global Franchise Leader for the Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies portfolio at Structural Heart. Prior to that role, she was Director of Global Strategy & Analytics at Abbott, where she led the strategic planning and governance processes, and established the analytics capabilities for the entire Structural Heart division. Earlier in her career, Dr. De Luca was a strategy consultant for Lifescience Dynamics, and advised global biopharma and medtech executives on portfolio planning, go to market, growth and expansion strategies, across offices in San Francisco, Boston, and London.

Dr. De Luca holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering & Cardiovascular Science from Imperial College London, where she was a Fellow of the British Heart Foundation Centre of Excellence, and an M.S. and B.S. in Medical Engineering from the University of Rome II.
